Note from the Head
Year 2 children had a very exciting visit to the Folk Museum in Cambridge where they learnt about everyday household objects from yesteryear. On Tuesday, the KS1 hall was filled with an inflatable planetarium; children in Years 1, 5 and 6 were fascinated by a starlight show and a talk about space exploration given by the visiting speaker. Years 5 & 6 have been drumming, thanks to a grant secured by Mrs Crozier and with the support of a specialist music teacher. Mr Farmer’s class delighted their parents today with singing, artwork and stories about their learning – well done!
Two wonderful new projectors and screens have been installed thanks to a very generous grant of £5000 from the BVSA. Parents of pupils in Year 2A saw one of these being used during their children’s class assembly.
Easter Hat Parade – as many of you will know, it is a Brampton tradition to hold an Easter hat parade for pupils in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 on the last day of term; prizes are awarded for the most creative, innovative designs. So, please get busy with the tissue paper, fluffy chicks and spring flowers and decorate those bonnets for the big Easter event!
Easter competition – Pupils in Years 3 – 6 are invited to make and / or decorate an Easter basket; these can be filled with Easter symbols or mementos of spring. Again prizes are on offer so get those creative juices flowing!
A Night at the Movies – BVSA committee members are planning a movie evening (well, afternoon!) to showcase the new projectors which they have generously funded. Two films will be shown simultaneously – Despicable Me and Free Birds – at 3.45 p.m. on Friday 28th March. Tickets for pop corn and a drink are being sold at £2 each. Parents are invited to accompany their children to the screening – be there for the premiere! Places are lim-ited, so please look out for the BVSA letter in book bags next week, complete the reply slip and return it, together with a cheque or cash, for the number of tickets requested, by Friday 21st March. Please put the slip in a clearly marked envelope – ‘BVSA Movie Night’.
