Note from the Head
The Week that Was………
It’s been a great end to a lively half-term! Years 5 & 6 have been making Mayan temples … out of sponge cake; this has to be one of the most delicious learning experiences in History! Thank you to all the parents who so kindly sent in flour, eggs, butter and sugar.
Year 5 children have been learning how to become ‘peer mediators’ resolving difficulties on the playground – future careers in ACAS await, I think.
Karen Braithwaite (PTA) has secured a donation of £1000 to add to the PTA Environment Fund which will be used to improve play and learning opportunities for children in our school grounds next year.
And last, but certainly not least, we have had a brilliant Health & Fitness Day today. Children have been taking part in team sports on the Green, the field, the playgrounds and in the hall. Imelda Pigg started the day with an energising warm up routine to some very jazzy music, whilst Hinchingbrooke teachers and sports leaders have supported various activities throughout the day. We are very grateful to Mr Whitehouse who organised the day and enabled the whole community to have such a great, healthy learning opportunity. Well done, everyone!
Family Learning & Open Afternoon – Tuesday 14th July – Cooking, drumming, jewellery making, pottery and sports are some of the activities on offer on our open afternoon this year. Please put the date in your diaries and look out for the sign up sheets at the end of June.
Make a Difference Morning - Miss Leach is planning a ‘Make a Difference’ morning tomorrow 23rd May 2015 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. to help tidy up areas of the school grounds. Help – from parents and children – with weeding, painting and general tidying would be very much appreciated. Please see the school website for more information. Thank you.
KS1 Concert – 24th June - Parents of children in KS1 are warmly invited to attend a Singing Assembly at 9 a.m. on 24th June to hear our youngest singers and instrumentalists. The assembly should last around 30 minutes.
